Equestrian Fine Art

Growing up along the Coquitlam River, my heart was captured by the sight of horses loping through the riverside arena. It was my sanctuary, a place where joy flourished, even as the horse community began to fade. I remember eagerly rushing to inspect every manure pile, clinging to the last traces of the equine friends who once graced our trails. As time passed, those remnants crumbled away, mirroring the decline of a once-thriving community.
As I grew older, my dream of riding my own horses along the river became true; I traded barn chores for what ended up becoming my most cherished partnership with my Saddlebreds Lady & Rosie & my Arabian Azura. Riding along the Coquitlam River became a cherished ritual, and I rallied friends to join me, spreading smiles along our path. However, life took me away to the Interior of British Columbia, where my horses now enjoy the serenity of mountainside pastures.
Sadly after so many years of being allowed to ride here the City of Coquitlam took away our rights. The City of Port Coquitlam has also done the same, except they do allow you to ride with permission if you reach out & ask first. If you feel that horses should still be allowed along the river feel free to let Port Coquitlam & Coquitlam know your thoughts. The vast network of trails was once a safe haven for us equestrians, a place to ride in peace – the many trails dispersing the amount of people on days where everyone wanted to be outside enjoying the natural beauty of Port Coquitlam. The ancient trees provided much needed shade from the scorching sun in the sun & down pours of rain during our West Coast winters. Yet, my dreams lingered—breathtaking photographs amid ancient old-growth trees.

Fantasy Photography Fulfills

I decided to make that dream a reality when I released a model call asking the Fraser Valley equestrian community to come create art with me! When Kendall from Hazelnut Grove Clydesdales contacted me about a horse who could be a unicorn, I nearly fell out of my chair with excitement. Adira wasn’t just a horse; she embodied the magic of a unicorn. The bond between Kendall and Adira was palpable, inspiring creativity and connection.
With Kendall’s amazing team, everything came together seamlessly, crafted from scratch overnight. Kendall and Adira travel throughout the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley, offering horseback and carriage rides for weddings and special events. Adira’s love for her job radiates, making every experience truly enchanting. This photoshoot not only fulfilled my artistic vision but also reignited my childhood belief in unicorns.
